Should I make any preparations before siding work begins on my home?

Before any siding works are even started you have to properly estimate the amount of siding you need or you might be left with some empty space just because you did some wrong calculations. It is always better that you would have some extra siding left than that you have to run to the hardware store just because you need on more piece.

Secondly, clean the area where you are going to install the siding so you would have enough room to work. In addition, also remove everything that might intervene with the installation, for example shutters etc. Remove all the old caulking so the siding would fit better.

If the surface where the siding will be installed is not even than try to make it as flat as possible as it would be better to install the siding there and the results will be more long lasting. What is more, the siding installed on a more even surface also looks better and it will seem that a better job has been done with the installation.

You should also gather enough durable tools like a nail hole punch a snap- lock punch and an unlocking tool. In addition, buy enough nails or whatever is recommended to install that particular type of siding.
