How to switch aluminum siding to vinyl siding? | |
Vinyl siding is the most widely used siding type on the market currently as it has been used for a long time already and it has proven its quality and durability already many times. But sometimes when remodeling the house vinyl siding just seems a bit old fashioned and in this cases the solution might seem to be switching aluminum siding to vinyl siding. As all types of siding comes as a complete system this switching means a tremendous amount of work as all the old vinyl siding has to be removed before any of the aluminum siding can be installed.
The installation process for aluminum siding is almost exactly the same as for vinyl siding so if you have once installed the vinyl siding by yourself it is not very hard to do it again with the aluminum. Just keep in mind that you would do a through background research about the particular siding that you are going to install and be acquainted with the instruction manual for installation.
When removing the previous siding try to keep the surface as flat as possible as it will make the installation of your new siding easier and the results more long lasting.
