How to maintain the siding of your home? | |
• Always maintain your siding clean. Use your garden hose and minding not to damage any window or house decorations, hose the entire siding from top to bottom so that you don’t dirty what you’ve already cleaned. With a putty knife or spatula peel any hardened dust. A single rinse may not be enough so consider hiring a pressure washer and getting a washing liquid specific for your siding. Do this every other week so the siding is always in top condition.
• Do adequately frequent repairs. Although some siding can last up to 15 years, you needn’t wait so long to apply a coat of paint or fix holes. A new color might give your home a welcoming and hospitable appearance.
• Maintain the siding in the best form so that it can withstand any bad weather. Check routinely for loose planks, rotten parts or other things that will give in during a storm.
• Add extra UV protection if you live in a well-lit region.
• Find good siding contractors over the internet or the grapevine and ask for their professional opinion.
• Depending on your circumstances think if a different type of siding will be more appropriate.
