i have l-p sidng panaels on a 1975 home which are surface peeling andsome edge deterioration. can i cover this with some sort of cedar siding or will it need to be removed?

siding is basically sound . surface mildew has been a problem. should housewrap be applied under new siding if old siding is not removed?

covering your old siding is not advisable. the cost would be the same as replacing it with the same material since you have to wrap it up. i recommend covering it with the same material.
